1. history
曼尼很喜歡爸爸的新女友，歌洛莉亞很吃醋也很自卑，她這樣說“I am history”是因爲history可以指代過去的事，過去的人，意味着“現已不再重要”。
Last year's report is ancient history and totally irrelevant to the current situation.
去年的報告已經是老早以前的事了，與當前的情況毫無關係。
"What about Dan - are you still seeing him?" "Oh, he's history."

2. go overboard
overboard形容極其熱心的；全身心投入的，有“過分”的含義，go overboard表示做得過頭；過分激動；過分熱衷。
I don't think there'll be more than six people eating, so I wouldn't go overboard with the food.
我想吃飯的人不會超過6個，所以我不會準備太多的菜。
3. bring home the bacon
bring home the bacon可別翻譯成“把培根帶回家”，它的意思是養家餬口。
之前說過，負責養家餬口的那個人是breadwinner，關於謀生，常用的表達是make a living。
You can make a good living (= earn a lot of money) in sales if you have the right attitude.
如果你有良好的心態，幹銷售會賺很多錢。
