中式英語之鑑:狗血淋頭
172. 他把這工程做砸了，被老闆罵得狗血淋頭。
[誤] He failed in the project and was poured the blood of dogs by his boss.
[正] He failed in the project and was given both barrels by his boss.
注：在這裏，barrel 是“槍筒”的意思。而 give sb. both barrels 指連續射擊，狠狠打擊對手，不給他喘息的機會。它與中文的“狗血淋頭”不是一回事嗎？
