Both are so much related to each other. And both are so dissimilar! What are the differencesbetween friendship and love? Is platonic(理想的) friendship possible between persons ofopposite sex? Let us try and understand.

What is friendship? Why do we call a person our friend? When do we call someone a very goodfriend? If we care for a person, if we are always ready to help that person and if we share mostof our thoughts with a person, they are our good friends. We can always count upon our goodfriends in an emergency. We are always sure that our friend will understand why we acted in acertain way. We need not explain anything to our very good friends. The friendship is so deepand the relationship is so intimate, that most of the things are automatically understood byour friends.
什麼是友情?爲什麼我們管一個人叫“朋友”?什麼時候我們管一個人叫作“好朋友”?如果我們關心一個人，我們總是準備幫助那個人;如果我們和某個人分享大部分的想法，那個人一定是我們的好朋友。在緊急情況下我們總是依靠好朋友。我們總是確定好友會理解我們行事的方式。我們不需要向親密的朋友解釋什麼。友情如此深，關係如此牢，以致於朋友間的事雙方都會很自然地理解。
What about love? In a relationship of deep love, all the sharing that we discussed above aretaken for granted. But love transcends all this. During love, we are attached witha particular person, while in friendship, one may have many friends. A loving relationshipmakes one so much attached to the other, that one gets pained if his/her beloved is hurt! Lovealso involves a physical element. Friendship does not have that. This is a vital re gives us love so that the specie can go forward. Nature does not give us friendship.

“Youth” seems to be fading away in my life, only leaving me some unforgettable andcherished memories. Something that we used to think would last forever in our lives, hadactually vanished in a second before we realized it. Those who we used to deeply love or miss,have now become the most acquainted strangers. Our once pure and beautiful dream, isgradually fading away with time passing by……This is youth, which is indeed an endless cyclefrom familiarity to strangeness, and from strangeness to familiarity, until the curtain of ouryouth is closing off little by little, along with our childish fantasies.
人就是這樣一種奇怪的動物，擁有的時候厭倦，失去回首的時候才痠痛。得到了很多，失去的也不少，只是希望抵達安詳的心靈。很喜歡小孩，因爲他們有着人類心靈最純正的東西，他們的人性是最美的。喜歡親近老人，因爲可以感觸到他們心靈的平靜，臉龐的安詳，也許生活對於他們而言就是儘量的用最舒適的方式過完餘生。喜歡貓，只因爲他們的慵懶而自在，有一種踏實感。
Human is such a strange animal that when we mostly did not cherish something until we lostit. We have gained a lot of things, but also lost a lot. What we want is merely getting the peaceof mind. We care for children because they are the most pure-minded and kind-hearted amonghuman beings. We are fond of staying with the old, because we can sense their inner peacefrom their serene faces. Maybe for them, the essence of life is to live it in the mostcomfortable way they deem. We may also love cats because their relaxation renders us asubstantive sense of life.
生命裏太多的東西太容易的散去與破碎，所以，學會了習慣性的冷漠與淡然，也許，更多的時候我們更願意相信自己，不願隨便的託付，因爲生活裏，沒有永遠的唯一，所有的東西終究有一天都會離我們而去。有時不是世界拋棄了我們，是我們自己先拋棄了世界，因爲我們學會了習慣性的否定，習慣性的抵制而讓許多的東西擦肩而過。¬太多的時候，我們自己更願意相信是生活傷害了我們，而不願去接受是自己的缺失傷了自己。
There are many things in our lives that are easily gone or broken. Therefore, we will graduallylearn to become apathetic and indifferent towards everything. Maybe oftentimes, we areinclined to believe in ourselves rather than trust and rely on others, because in our lives,nothing will stay with us eternally and all will be gone one day eventually. Sometimes it is notthe world that abandons us, but we who abandon the world. It can be evidenced by the factthat we have learnt to deny something habitually and therefore lost a lot of things. More oftenthan not, we would believe that it is life that hurts us rather than believe that it is ourpersonality flaw that hurts ourselves.
我們總想設法的去改變自己的命運，設法的讓身邊親近的人過的更幸福一點，設法着哪一天可以抵達理想的彼岸，設法着讓自己擁有幸福的感情，可是，發現很多東西是那麼的難，所有的東西要實現不是一陣子而是一輩子的事，一輩子太長，很多的東西容易變質，誰也沒有辦法保證永遠。所以，更多的時候沉默也許是自己回答所有的最好方式，既然承諾不了，何必多言，萬事還需自己努力的經營。
We are in strenuous effort in changing our fate, bringing more happiness to people around us,realizing our dreams and reaching the love we are anticipating. However, we soon realize it is byno means easy to achieve any of them. It is a lifelong commitment and many things wouldalter with time and no one can guarantee eternity. Hence, silence becomes the best solutionto all difficulties and hardships. Since we cannot make a for-sure promise, why do we stillbother to boast too much about it? We still need to get down to our business with our owneffort.
