九旬潮老太告訴你 美麗與年齡並沒有關係

Businesswoman and all-around fashion legend Iris Apfel had two important things to celebrate: thelaunch of her fashion brand and her 95th birthday.

女企業家兼全能時尚傳奇愛瑞斯.阿普費爾有兩件重要的事情要慶祝一下：她的時尚品牌發佈了以及她的95歲生日。

The forever young icon was pretty much the best advertisement for the collection that she curated.

對於愛瑞斯策劃的時裝系列，這位青春永駐達人幾乎可作爲最佳廣告了。

Some fashion icons are reluctant to be frank about a burning topic: ageism and that oft-used expression, "dressing for your age." However, Apfel has earned every right to say what she wants.

一些時尚達人不願意坦誠地面對一個很重要的問題：年齡主義，以及那句常說的什麼年齡就穿什麼衣服。不過，阿普費爾有充分的權利說自己想說的話。

"I think that's stupid," Apfel says.

"I think [designers are] all entirely youth-oriented.

I think a lot of designers create very expensive clothes for women [in their] 60s and 70s and they create them for 16- and 18-year-old bodies.

The kids can't afford to buy them and the women look like a horse's ass if they put it on.

So it's all out of whack."

"I think if a woman has her own style and knows who she is, she doesn't have to dress for being 60 or 20 or 90," she says.

"I mean, there are just some certain things that older women shouldn't shouldn't wear mini skirts.

They shouldn't wear very high heels. They shouldn't wear too much makeup. Things like that which are just common sense." Apfel adds.

她們不應該穿迷你裙，不應該穿鞋跟太高的鞋子，不應該化太濃的妝，諸如此類，都是常識。阿普費爾補充道。

"I always say it's more important to be happy than well dressed.

我總是在說，開開心心比穿得漂亮更重要。

Do your own thing. I don't sit and judge anybody.

去做自己的事。我不會坐下來評判任何人。

I think it's nice to look in a mirror once in awhile."
