張朝陽:中國不會下架所有美劇
China's TV regulators silenced some popular U.S. TV shows, such as 'The Big Bang Theory' and 'The Good Wife,' on Chinese video websites over the weekend. Now many want to know whether more will be pulled, and the popular Practice of watching foreign shows on streaming websites will go down the tubes.
剛剛過去的這個週末，《生活大爆炸》(The Big Bang Theory)、《傲骨賢妻》(The Good Wife)等一些中國視頻網站上的熱門美劇被電視監管機構勒令下架。現在許多人都想知道是否更多美劇還會被撤下，以及通過流媒體網站觀看外國電視劇的這種流行做法是不是將被扼殺。
Charles Zhang, chairman of , doesn't think so. His website, along with Youku Tudou and Tencent Holdings, was among those affected by the regulatory takedown, which also included such shows as 'NCIS' and 'The Practice.' In an earnings call Monday, Mr. Zhang said he believes the watchdog's takedown of the shows was 'a standalone event.'
不過，搜狐()董事長張朝陽(Charles Zhang)並不這麼想。搜狐和優酷土豆集團(Youku Tudou)、騰訊控股(Tencent Holdings)等公司都受到下架影響。《海軍罪案調查處》(NCIS)和《律師本色》(The Practice)也在下架美劇之列。張朝陽在週一的財報電話會議上說，他認爲監管機構將美劇下架屬於孤立事件。'I believe this does not represent an overall policy change toward American TV shows in China,' Mr. Zhang said, adding that he doesn't know what prompted the move from officials at China's State Administration of Press, Publication, Radio, Film and Television.
張朝陽表示，他覺得這並不代表中國政府對美劇的整體政策出現改變。他還說，不知是什麼原因促使中國國家新聞出版廣電總局做出此舉。
Mr. Zhang said the move will affect advertising revenue, but he didn't disclose anticipated financial loss.
張朝陽說，此舉會影響廣告收入，但未透露預計將導致多大經濟損失。The move is causing jitters in the industry. U.S. filmmakers and TV-show creators have been looking to China's video websites to broaden their audiences. Ellen DeGeneres became the first to air a U.S. talk show in China in January on Sohu, which also signed on comedy sketch program 'Saturday Night Live.'
下架舉動令業界不安。美國影視劇製作人一直期待通過中國視頻網站來擴大觀衆羣。埃倫·德傑尼勒斯(Ellen DeGeneres)主持的脫口秀節目今年1月登錄搜狐網，成爲在中國播出美國脫口秀節目第一人。此外，搜狐還簽約了美國喜劇小品類綜藝節目《週六夜現場》(Saturday Night Live)。Many insiders are still uncertain how far-reaching regulatory action will go. The state-run newspaper the People's Daily indicated in commentary Monday that the action may only be the beginning. 'If you don't have Internet order, how can you have Internet freedom?' the commentary said.
很多業內人士現在仍不確定中國這一監管行動將產生多大影響。中國官方報紙《人民日報》(People's Daily)週一通過一篇評論文章表示，下架行動可能僅僅是個開始。文章說，沒有網絡秩序，何來網絡自由？Commentary in the Global Times, a more freewheeling tabloid published by the People's Daily, says regulators want to strengthen the position of popular domestic shows. U.S. content has a leg-up because producers spend more money on production, it says.
《人民日報》出版的觀點更加五花八門的小報《環球時報》(Global Times)刊出的評論文章稱，中國監管機構此舉“更深層的原因在於保護國內依舊羸弱的影視工業”。文章說，美劇內容之所以吸引人，是因爲製作人捨得花錢。But regulatory action has extended beyond U.S. television online, Mr. Zhang said, noting that watchdogs also removed the popular Chinese show 'Diors Man.' He said that show is being reviewed because it has some content that may be 'problematic.'
但張朝陽表示，監管機構的這一行動並非僅針對網上的美劇，還撤下了中國本土熱門劇《屌絲男士》。他說，這部國產劇正在接受審查，因爲其中一些內容可能有“問題”。'I believe after it's properly reviewed, it's going to be a brought back online soon,' he said.
張朝陽說，他認爲在經過一定審查後，《屌絲男士》很快便會在網上重新與大家見面。他表示，不知道其它劇集是否也會迴歸。
