印度南部建造中居民樓倒塌

An 11-story residential building under construction in the southern India state of Tamil Nadu collapsed late Saturday, killing at least nine people and trapping dozens of others. Most were construction workers who were seeking shelter during heavy rains and lightning.

Witnesses say about 50 people were in the building when it fell. Nearly 30 laborers have been rescued -- some are being treated in hospitals.

Rescuers Sunday said their efforts could go on for days. Indian officials are questioning two people from the construction company.印度南部泰米爾納德邦一座建造中的11層居民樓星期六晚上倒塌，造成至少9人死亡， 幾十人被困。他們大都是在暴雨閃電中跑到樓裏躲雨的建築工人。
