　　吹牛大賽比父母

An Army brat was boasting about his father to a Navy brat.

"My dad is an engineer. He can do everything. Do you know the Alps?"

"Yes," said the Navy brat.

"My dad has built them."

Then the naval kid spoke: "And do you know the Dead Sea?"

"Yes."

"It's my dad who's killed it!"

一個年輕的陸軍士兵跟一個海軍士兵吹牛，說他爸多麼了不起。

“我爸是個工程師。他什麼都會。你知道阿爾卑斯山麼?”

“知道，”海軍說

“我爸建的。”

The six-year-old John was terribly spoiled . His father knew it, but his grandma doted on him. He hardly left her side. And when he wanted anything, he either cried or threw a temper tantrum. Then came his first day of school, his first day away from his grandmother's loving arms.

When he came home from school his grandma met him at the door.

"Was school all right?" she asked, "Did you get along all right? did you cry?"

"Cry?" John asked. "No, I didn't cry, but the teacher did!"

Aceremonyisagainheldatthesameplace,andattheendoftheceremonythepallbearersareagaincarryingoutthecasket.

在同樣的地點再次舉行葬禮，而在葬禮的尾聲，擡棺材的人又再次要將棺材擡出去。

Astheyarewalking,thehusbandcriesout,"Watchoutforthatdamnwall!"
