The day was going smoothly until about 11 am when two men approached his counter. One ofthem grabbed his new tie. The other pointed a gun at him. “This is a Holdup. Give us themoney”, one was terrified. “It is my first day, I don't know where the safe is,” he said. “Don't lie to us, get us the money or we'll shoot you.” Nick had to think fast. “Okay, it's downhere. Hold on.”

Nick pretended to reach down under his desk. Instead, he got down on the ground, slid underhis desk and grabbed both men's legs. He tackled them and they fell to the ground. The policewere called and Nick saved the day!

少兒英語故事短文：跳傘問題As the helicopter hovered in mid air, Shannonstrapped on her parachute. Her crew was sent toput out a fire that had spread over 200 miles. Therewere no roads to reach the fire, so the firefighterswere arriving by helicopter. She waited for her turnand then jumped.

Because this was Shannon's eighth year and she had experience jumping out of helicopters,she was not particularly nervous. But when her chord jammed and her chute didn't open,Shannon panicked. To make matters worse, she was heading straight for the heart of the fire.
