Harvard was hit by a complaint alleging the university discriminates against Asian-American applicants by setting a higher bar for admissions than that faced other groups.

The US Justice Department has vowed to examine Harvard's admissions process.

Department spokesperson Sarah Isgur Flores said at the time that the investigation will focus on a single complaint filed in 2015 by 64 Asian-American groups that alleges Harvard unfairly denied admission to qualified Asian-American applicants.
司法部發言人弗洛雷斯稱,調查將暫時只鎖定2015年由64個亞裔美籍團體發起的單樁投訴。該投訴稱哈佛大學不公正地將符合條件的亞裔美籍申請人拒之門外。

Robert Iuliano, Harvard's general counsel, said the school's admissions policies are "fully compliant with the law."

Harvard's class of 2021 is 14.6 percent African-American, 22.2 percent Asian-American, 11.6 percent Hispanic and 2.5 percent Native American or Pacific Islander, according to data on the university's website.
