still & yet 深入辨析

still 和yet都有“還”、“仍然”的含義，still常用於肯定句中，表示“某事正在進行中”，一般與現在時態或進行時態連用。也可用在疑問句或否定句中，在否定句中須放在否定詞not之前。 yet表示“某事尚未發生”，多用於否定句或帶否定詞的陳述句中。yet通常放在句尾，still一般放在句中。

Still用於進行時態：

I'm still hungry.

我還是很餓。

Does he still work in the company？

他還在那個公司工作嗎？

still用於否定詞前：

They still haven't got more money．

他們到現在還是沒有賺更多的錢。

另外Still作副詞講，還有以下的含義：

1.儘管那樣，儘管如此

You may not approve of what he did, but he's still your brother.

2.（程度或數量）還要，更加

The company is hoping to extend its market still further.

公司希望可以進一步拓展市場。

另外：Still作形容詞，有以下的含義：

靜止的；不動的，安靜的
