此語多與系動同連用,意爲“比對方弱，敵不過”。與之相似的be more than a match for則指“比某人強”。

A:Tom is no match for Jack in Mathematies.
A:湯姆數學不如傑克。
B:But Jack is no match for Tom in P.E.
B:傑克體育沒湯姆好。
A:I think math is more important than P.E.
