The word radar is short for Radio Detection And Ranging.

radar（雷達）這個詞彙是radio detection and ranging（無線電探測器）的簡稱。

Where was Carly this morning? We had the meeting without her.

Today, "to fly under the radar" means to avoid being the center of attention or to go unnoticed.
