It's too bad!

用：此慣語有以下兩種用法：
當做錯事或無法實現一些事情時使用
意：真糟糕！真不運氣！真倒黴！
例. A: John, I'm afraid I broke the plate.
約翰，抱歉我打碎了那個碟子。
B：Oh，that's too bad!
噢，那真糟糕！
A: We don't play that kind of music any more.
我們不再演奏那種曲子了。
B: That's too bad. David said you were terrific.
真不走運！大衛說你們演奏得棒極了！
②指事已如此，無法挽救，後面接thac從甸或of短語
意：很遺憾，可也沒辦法；真遺憾(-I'm sorry)
例. Too bad that you couldn't come last night.
太遺憾，昨晚你不能來。
It's too bad of you to eat all the biscuits.
真是的，你把餅乾都吃光了！
not （so,)bad.
用：用來回答“How are you?”這類詢問身體狀況問候話的短語。
意：很好！還不錯！挺好的
例.A: How are you today?
今天好吧？
B：Not bad!
很好！
A: How are you getting on these days?
這陣子身體好吧？
B：Not too bad!
