一年一度的情人節很快到了，對於情侶們來說這可是個大節日。

1. blinding

這裏的blinding形容(疼痛) 劇烈的，它的本意是炫目的，耀眼的。

There was loud bang and a sudden blinding light.

隨着一聲巨響，突然出現了一道耀眼的光。

補充一個實用習語：a blinding flash，表示（主意或答案）在腦海中突然閃現。

The answer came to her in a blinding flash.

答案突然閃現在她腦海中。

2. square away

square sth/sb away的意思是“爲（某人或某事）完成所有的安排”。

square做動詞倒是有很多實用短語：

4. that's the spirit

that's the spirit在口語裏用於表示贊同或鼓勵，意思是“這就對了，就應該這樣”。

"Come on, we can win this game." "That's the spirit."

“加把勁，我們能贏這場比賽。”“這就對了。”
