①西方人在對別人的觀點表示不贊成的時候，一般不會直接表達出來，他們通常會客氣地說：You have a wonderful idea, but have you thougt of it another way?（你的主意很棒，不過你是否想過用另外一種方式來考慮呢？）
②西方人在婉言謝絕別人的邀請時，也會如法炮製。如：Thank you for your invitation, but I have something else to do tonight. （
