1.表示穿着：
in 是介詞，後接表示衣服或顏色的名詞，着重於服裝的款式或顏色。它所構成的短語只能作表語或定語。
①This is a picture of a young man in a black coat.
這是一張穿着黑色外套的年輕人的照片。
②He is in a black nylon jacket today.
他今天穿了一件黑色尼龍夾克。
put on 穿上，戴上，強調“穿”、“戴”的動作，後接衣服、鞋帽等。
①I want you to put on this coat and this hat.
我想讓你穿上這件外套，戴上這個帽子。
②Put on your heavy winter coat if you are going out.
如果你要出去，穿上你的厚冬衣。
wear 穿着，戴着，表示狀態，賓語可以是一毛，也可以是裝飾物、獎章等。
①You'd better wear blue or black pants with your blown shoes.
穿棕色鞋子的時候，最好要穿藍色或黑色褲子。

dress 的賓語通常是人，意思是“給…穿衣服”。dress oneself 或 get oneself dressed 表示給自己穿衣服。

2.表示等待

wait a moment./ just a moment/ hold on a second.

wait a second./ wait a jiffy./stay a while.
