【講解】

這條習語的本義是“在航行中，在海上”，但它還通常用於比喻。衆所周知，遠古時期，沒有先進的導航儀器，船隻常會失去控制，被大風颳得搖搖晃晃，隨波逐流，以致船上的人都不知道身在何方，只有置身大海中所產生的茫茫無際的失落感。at sea形象地表達了水手的這種困惑。故該習語常指“茫然,迷惑不解，不知所措”。
