點滴英語天天學第21期:Tim想套磁沒成功(短語詳解1)

Jack: Hey! That girl over there is checking you out! Why don't you go say hello?
Tim: The last time I said hello to a girl in a place like this, she thought I was coming on to her and blow me off before I had a chance to introduce myself.
Tim的話語中，說到come on to her，這是什麼意思呢？今天，我們就來學習come on to somebody這個短語。
Come on to somebody的意思是“to behave in a way that shows sb. that you want to have a sexual relationship with them ”，譯爲：勾引，勾搭（想與其發生性關係）。我們再來看幾個例句：
Kim is so pretty. That guys come on to her all the time. They don't really care whether or not she has a personality. （Kim太漂亮了，那些男的總是挑逗她。他們纔不管這個人如何？）
備註：all the time：一直，始終 whether or not：不論，是否
I can't believe he came on to you—he's a married man!（我兼職不敢相信他會挑逗你，因爲他是有家的人。）
備註：married是marry的過去分詞作定語。cannot belive：簡直不敢相信
She didn't even know he was coming on to her till they got to his place.（她甚至是直到了他的住處，才知道他即將挑逗她。）
那麼，男生日常生活中可不要輕易對一個lady說come on to her，否則會顯得自己沒有修養，讓人看不起的哦。
此外，Juliet提醒大家come to sb. 作爲“挑逗，調情，勾引，勾搭”這個意思的話，是一種非正式用語。那麼用標準書面英語該如何說呢？請跟Juliet一起來說：The last time I said hello to a girl in a place like this, she thought I was flirting with her。我們可以用flirt with來替換它。
