A: I told you that she is no fool.

我跟你說了她不是個傻子。

B: I know she is quite an article, but I was not sure of her ability to cope with a boss.

A: She cannot get in Dutch with him. He is her boss, you know?

【核心短語】an article

【解詞釋義】an article的原意是“文章”“條款”或“物品”。後來用它來指“任何卑鄙的人”。大概是由於大多數可鄙之人都詭計多端，因此該短語都引申爲“聰明的人”或“機靈的人”。

【典型範例1】You are an article and you cannot be taken in by such a rogue.
