舊金山冷知識：一座移動中的古蹟

舊金山市內有一個一直在移動的古蹟，它不是一棟建築，而是這座城市最有趣的一個交通工具——舊金山纜車 San Francisco cable car

這個系統是一個得到認證的國家歷史遺蹟。現在它已經成了舊金山的熱門旅遊項目，每天都有大量遊客去體驗，通常要排隊2小時才能坐上。

你可能會覺得奇怪。這個在地上跑的東西爲什麼叫纜車？纜呢？車頂上沒東西啊。

它確實是纜車，它的纜繩就在它下面的軌道里。這些車本身是沒有引擎的，整個纜車系統是靠幾個動力站拉動纜繩來移動的。

The city’s cable cars are the only National Historical Monument that can move. The San Francisco cable car system is the world's last manually operated cable car system. An icon of San Francisco, the cable car system forms part of the intermodal urban transport network. While the cable cars are used to a certain extent by commuters, the vast majority of their seven million annual passengers are tourists, and as a result, the wait to get on can often reach two hours or more.
