央行表示 將穩步推進人民幣國際化

China will steadily liberalize the yuan's use on the capital account, which makes the currency convertible for investment purposes, as part of the country's strategy to make the yuan a global currency, the central bank said last Monday.

央行上週一表示，中國將逐步放開人民幣在資本賬戶中的使用限制，以投資爲目的的人民幣可自由兌換，使人民幣成爲國際貨幣是國家戰略的一部分。

The yuan's globalization is a long-term strategy that demands consistent and steady efforts, Yi Gang, the deputy central bank governor, told participants at an insider meeting.

央行副行長易綱在一次內部會議上告訴與會人士，人民幣全球化是一個長期的戰略，需要持續穩定的努力。

China's economy is still proceeding on a stable track, he said, adding the market forces that drive the yuan's global use remain.

他表示，中國的經濟仍然在一個穩定的軌道上運行，人民幣國際化的市場驅動力也沒有變。

Efforts should be made to enhance the yuan's role in investment, reserves and financial transactions, he noted.

他指出，應當努力提高人民幣在投資、儲備和金融交易中的作用。

The central bank also underlined the importance of enhancing risk prevention and vowed to step up market supervision.

此外，央行還強調了加強風險防範的重要性，並誓言要加大市場監管力度。

China has been pushing for the yuan's global use, as the world's largest trading nation looks to lower transaction costs in international trade, which is mostly settled in U.S. dollars at present.

作爲世界上最大的貿易國，中國一直在尋求降低國際貿易交易成本的途徑，中國也一直在推動人民幣的全球化使用，而目前主要是以美元來結算。

Making the yuan convertible on the capital account is essential to reaching this target. China currently make its currency fully convertible on the current account for trade purposes, but is yet to fully open its capital account for investment purposes.

實現人民幣資本賬戶自由兌換對於實現這一目標來說至關重要。中國目前允許以貿易爲目的的往來賬戶完全實現自由兌換，但尚未完全開放其用於投資目的的資本賬戶。
