“藝術家”的狗狗受追捧
On February 12 （local time）, silent movie "The Artist" won seven awards at the BAFTAs——the biggest ceremony of the British film industry, making it a favorite for the Oscars this year. It won awards for best film, best director, best original screenplay, best original music, best cinematography, best costume design as well as a performance award for leading actor Jean Dujardin.
當地時間2月12日，無聲電影《藝術家》在英國最盛大的電影盛宴——英國學院獎頒獎典禮上囊括7項大獎，成爲了今年奧斯卡的奪獎熱門。該片一舉拿下了最佳影片、最佳導演、最佳原創劇本、最佳原創音樂、最佳攝影、最佳服裝設計等獎項。同時，主演讓-杜雅爾丹獲得了最佳男主角獎。
However, Uggie the dog in "The Artist" have no chance to win an Oscar award, because the Academy has had strict rules for more than 80 years, excluding animals from its consideration. The Academy is still trying to establish itself as a serious awards program and the idea of giving awards to animals, despite the public's deep admiration for the animal actors, would decrease its prestige.
然而，《藝術家》中的狗狗Uggie卻沒有機會獲得一項奧斯卡大獎，因爲80多年來奧斯卡獎一直有着嚴格的規定，將動物排除在其考慮的範圍之外。奧斯卡獎始終將自己視爲一個嚴肅的獎項，而爲動物們頒獎會削弱獎項的分量，即使是頒給大衆非常喜歡的動物角色。
But audiences have fallen in love with Uggie, the dog in "The Artist". The 10-year-old Jack Russell Terrier plays the best friend of Dujardin and steals the show in the silent film. His vocal range doesn't come into play, but his courage and humor do.
但觀衆們已經愛上了《藝術家》中的狗狗烏吉。這隻10歲的傑克羅素梗犬在這部無聲電影中扮演杜雅爾丹最好的朋友，在裏面搶盡了風頭。他表演時不能發出聲音，但是他的勇氣和幽默都展現了出來。
The talented dog has got much support across the Internet. Over 9,000 people hope the Academy Award would allow animals to compete for the awards. With the recent buzz for Uggie, many have been asking whether the Academy should revise its rules.
聰明的烏吉在網上贏得了衆多支持。有9000多人希望奧斯卡獎能允許動物們參與評選。隨着人們近來對烏吉的喜愛，許多人質疑學院獎是否應該修改其評選規則。
Now, Uggie has received the "Best Dog in a Theatrical Film" award in Dog News Daily's first ever "Golden Collar Awards". That is, he has picked up the animal equivalent of an Oscar. And he has been named "Best Scene Stealer" by the American Humane Association.
目前，烏吉已在《每日犬報》設立的首屆"金項圈獎"中奪得了"狗狗影帝"的稱號。也就是說，烏吉獲得了動物界的奧斯卡獎。此外，美國人道主義協會還頒給烏吉“最佳搶鏡獎”。
