Most city dwellers want easy access to local transport routes.

But architects in Chongqing, China, took that a step further when they capped an apartment complex with a busy thoroughfare.

但中國重慶市的建築設計師則更進一步，在一座樓房之上建起了一條繁忙的公路。

Images of the unlikely abode went viral after they were uploaded to social media website Weibo by a local resident.

這組有關這一不可思議的建築的照片，在被當地一位居民上傳到社交媒體微博上之後迅速走紅。

The images show a number of vehicles traveling along the tarmac, which is clearly marked with parking parameters.

The building reportedly also contains a four-storey car park and has shops on the ground floor.

Chongqing has a population of 49 million packed into 31,000 square miles, causing urban planners to look creatively at solving space issues.
