Edward Snowden: the whistle-blower

US whistleblower Edward Snowden said the US government had been hacking into computers in Hong Kong and on the Chinese mainland for years.

美國告密者愛德華•斯諾登表示，美國政府已入侵香港和中國大陸的電腦系統多年。

【講解】

Whistleblower指“告發者，告密者”，也就是向公衆或政府部門揭發非法活動（illegal activities）或不當行爲（misconduct）的人，“檢舉、告發某人”就是blow the whistle on somebody，如：The government is encouraging people to blow the whistle on corruption. （政府鼓勵人民舉報貪污。）。前兩年，我國監察機關提議的“實名舉報”就是real-name whistleblowing。

斯諾登稱，美國國家安全局（National Security Agency, NSA）在全球進行超過61000個入侵電腦行動（hacking operations）。
