A: What’s wrong? You look upset.

B: I had a quarrel with my girlfriend a few days ago. Since our quarrel we have not been on speaking terms. To tell the truth, I am really ticked off by her.

我幾天前和我女友吵了一架。自從我們吵架後，關係一直不好。說實話，我對她這種人簡直受不了。

A: Oh, come on. Let bygones be bygones. Why don’t you get in touch with her and talk things over quietly? I’m sure you’ll be able to work things out.

第二， 地道表達

on speaking terms

1. 解詞釋義

On speaking terms經常和with搭配使用，是指“關係，友誼”。它的字面意思是“與人認識的程度到談話的程度”，引申爲“關係好，彼此友好”的意思。

e.g. He felt sure that we could work out all the difficulties connected with production and supply.
