“熱鬧”這個詞在漢語裏再常見不過了，哪裏有熱鬧，哪裏就會有人羣聚集。當然，這些人羣中有些是“湊熱鬧”的，有些則是在一邊“看熱鬧”的。

“湊熱鬧”這個詞在英語中可以用詞組come along for the ride 來表示，它的意思是：to join in an activity without playing an important part in it。

【例句】

My boyfriend loves this rock band, he has booked two tickets for the concert tonight, but I just came along for the ride.

我男朋友很喜歡這個搖滾樂隊，他老早就訂好了演唱會的門票，不過，我只是來湊個熱鬧。

“湊熱鬧”的人是身在其中，那麼“看熱鬧”的人就屬於“旁觀者”那一類了，所以，在英語裏，我們可以用look on 或者watch the fun 來表示“看熱鬧”。
