《時代週刊》公佈年度風雲人物

Time magazine announced the "Person of the Year", which attracts much attention across the world, last Tuesday.

上週二，《時代週刊》雜誌公佈了“年度人物”，引起全球廣泛關注。

A group of journalists, named as "The Guardians", who were either killed, arrested, or charged, acquired the title.

被稱爲“守護者”的一羣記者獲得了這一稱號，他們不是遭到殺害、被逮捕就是受到起訴。

They are Saudi journalist Jamal Khashoggi, five members of the Capital Gazette staff, journalist Maria Ressa, and Reuters journalists Wa Lone and Kyaw Soe Oo.

他們分別是沙特記者賈馬爾·卡舒吉、《首府公報》的五名員工、記者瑪麗亞·瑞薩以及路透社記者瓦隆和吳覺梭。

A series of four black-and-white covers highlights what the magazine calls "the War on Truth."

Time selected the group "for taking great risks in pursuit of greater truths, for the imperfect but essential quest for facts that are central to civil discourse, for speaking up and speaking out."

Since 1927, Time has selected individuals or groups to appear on its covers for the end-of-the-year feature. This was the first time someone named was no longer alive.
