李彥宏登《時代週刊》封面！老外稱讚很不錯

《時代週刊》亞洲版最新一期的封面人物是百度聯合創始人兼執行總裁李彥宏，該雜誌還在封面上稱其爲“創新者”。

The headline used for the piece inside the magazine reads "Baidu's Robin Li is Helping China Win the 21st Century". It is the first time that a Chinese IT entrepreneur has featured on the magazine's cover.

Reflecting on how Li built China's biggest search engine, the article writes that Baidu, which has 80 percent market share in China, is just behind Google in terms of search engine and has become the world's fourth-biggest website, whose Chinese rivals are only social media and gaming giant Tencent and China's biggest online shopping website Alibaba.
這篇文章回顧了李彥宏是如何創建了中國最大的搜索引擎，並指出擁有中國80%市場份額的百度在搜索引擎領域僅次於谷歌，已成爲全球第四大網站。在中國，只有社交媒體和遊戲產業巨頭騰訊以及中國最大的在線購物網站阿里巴巴能與其匹敵。

China's State Council announced the next artificial intelligence (AI) development plan on July 20, 2016, which stated that China will become "the most advanced AI innovation center in the world" before 2030 and China's core AI industry will see a production value of $148 billion.
中國國務院於2016年7月20日公佈了未來的人工智能發展規劃，並指出到2030年，中國將成爲“全球最先進的人工智能創新中心”，而且中國的人工智能核心產業的產值將達到1480億美元。

"No one in China takes this challenge (AI) more seriously than Robin Li," said Time Asia.
“在中國沒人比李彥宏更重視這項挑戰（人工智能）了，”《時代週刊》亞洲版寫道。

Baidu, whose first-quarter revenue in 2017 was $9 billion, invested nearly $ 1.2 billion in research and development, and most of it was invested in AI, according to the tech giant's earnings report.
該科技巨頭的收益報告顯示，百度2017年第一季度的收益爲90億美元，其研發投入近12億美元，而且多投資於人工智能領域。

Li said Baidu can take China 's unparalleled scale advantage to dominate global AI market. The reason is that the more the data, the better trained the algorithm .
李彥宏表示，百度可以利用中國無可匹敵的規模優勢來影響全球的人工智能市場。因爲數據越多，算法被訓練得越好。

Currently, Baidu has devoted lots to autonomous driving and voice recognition, and developed autonomous driving platform Apollo and conversational AI platform DuerOS.
目前，百度在自動駕駛和聲音識別上投入了大量的資源，研發了自動駕駛平臺阿波羅（Apollo）以及對話式人工智能平臺度祕操作系統（DuerOS）。

The largest search engine in China launched its autopilot vehicle Apollo 2.0 at the 2018 International Consumer Electronics Show (CES) in Las Vegas on Jan 8. The system can help realize auto drive on barrier-less city roads.
中國最大的搜索引擎百度於1月8日在拉斯維加斯舉辦的2018年國際消費者電子展上推出了其自動駕駛汽車阿波羅2號。該系統有助於在無障礙的城市道路上實現自動駕駛。

And artificial voice recognition technology at the DuerOS can understand what people say, sometimes even better than a human being, according to Baidu.
百度表示，度祕操作系統的人工語音識別技術可以理解人們在講什麼，有時候甚至比人類的理解力都要好。

"We imagine that humans can interact with any equipment using human languages," said Li. "In the future, the tools will study how to understand human language and human intentions. That's the future."

While Tesla's founder Elon Musk and physicist Stephen Hawking both claimed that AI is a big threat to human society, Li said: "Human owns the ability of making the world a safe place to live in. The development of AI will undoubtedly make many people lose their jobs. "You can't change the development trend, what you can do is to go on pursuing innovation to create more jobs for people," said Li.
