上班不必非穿高跟鞋 菲律賓職場女性得'解放'

The Philippines has banned companies from compelling women to wear high heels to work under a government order hailed by a labor group as a victory against sexism and pain.

菲律賓於日前頒佈政令，禁止企業強迫女性穿高跟鞋上班，勞工組織稱讚此舉爲反抗性別歧視和告別疼痛的一大勝利。

The labor department order took effect as the government took up the cudgels for long-suffering shopping mall clerks, hotel receptionists and flight attendants.

在政府對長期以來飽受高跟鞋折磨的商場售貨員、酒店接待員和空乘人員的力挺下，菲勞工部發布的這份政令於日前正式生效。

Employers should implement the use of "practical and comfortable footwear" to improve the health of workers who stand for long periods, said the order, which applies to heels measuring 2.54 cm or higher unless the employee chooses to wear them.

根據該政令，對於需長時間站立的員工，僱主應該讓她們穿"實用又舒適的鞋子"，以改善其健康狀況。該政令適用於鞋跟高度達到或超過2.54釐米的鞋，員工自己選擇穿着的情況除外。

"These should not pinch the feet or toes; are well-fitted and non-slipping; provide adequate cushion and support to the arch of the feet; either flat or with low heels that must be wide-based or wedge type," it said.

政令指出：“工作期間所穿鞋子不能擠腳或腳趾，應大小合適、不打滑，爲足弓提供足夠的緩衝和支持，平底，如果選用低跟鞋，必須是寬底或坡跟設計。”

The labor department also ordered companies to give these workers rest periods or seats to reduce the time they spend standing or walking.

此外，菲律賓勞工部還要求企業爲這些員工提供休息時間或座椅，以減少其站立或走路的時間。
