Brazil's Senate voted last Wednesday to move the impeachment trial against suspended President Dilma Rousseff to its final phase.

Senators voted 59-21 to approve a report calling for her removal after 16 hours of often-angry speeches.

The start of the final phase needed only a majority of senators to be present, but 54 of 81 senators will have to vote to convict Ms. Rousseff to remove her from office.

啓動彈劾審判的最後階段只需要多數參議員到場，但81名參議員中須有54名參議員投贊成票，才能爲羅塞夫定罪以將她撤職。

The result was expected. The number voting against her—already more than the two-thirds needed to eject her—suggests she faces an uphill climb if she wants to stay in office.

這一結果是符合預期的。投票反對她的人，也就是彈劾她的人已經超過了三分之二，所以這就表明，如果她還想留在總統辦公室，那麼她的處境就猶如爬坡一樣艱難了。

Rousseff is accused of committing fiscal fraud in an attempt to balance the 2014 budget. She has not yet made comments on the Senate's decision.

According to earlier reports, the impeachment trial is expected to take place in late August or early September.
