Northeast Normal University is an institution of higher learning under the direct administration of the Ministry of Education，being selected as one of the universities given priority in construction in tire“Project 211”.

高等學府東北師範大學是教育部直屬高校，國家“211工程”重點建設大學。

The university, located in Changchun city，Jilin province，occupies an 500 000 square meters，including 800 000 square meters of the main area of campus and 700 000 square meters of the new campus.

學校坐落在吉林省長春市。學校佔地面積150萬平方米，其中校本部佔地80萬平方米，新校區佔地70萬平方米。

NENU presently comprises 19 schools and a graduate school. It offers 56 undergraduate specialties，137 M. A. degree specialties，9 M. A. degree specialties in first level disciplines，70 Ph. D. degree specialties 9 Ph. D. degree specialties in first-level disc ipli}}es，8 disciplines with Post-doctoral R&D Stations，4 key disciplines of The NJtional Institution of Higher Education，6 disciplines among the construction projects of the key disciplines of the national“Tenth Five-Year Plan”and the“Project 211”e disciplines are personnel training and scientific research bases of the national fundamental disciplines of arts and sciences;2 disciplines are among the key research bases for Humanities and Social Sciences of the Ministry of Educaticn;6 laboratories and research centers are authorized by the ministry

全校現有19個學院，設有研究生院。開設56個本科專業，137個碩士學位點，9個一級學科碩士學位點，70個博士學位點，9個博士學位授權一級學科，8個博士後科研流動站，4個國家高等學校重點學科，6個學科被確定爲國家“一於一五”"211工程”重點學科建設項目，3個學科是國家文科、理科基礎學科人才培養和科學研究基地，,2個學科是教育部人文社會科學重點研究基地，6個部級實驗室、研究中心。

There are 19 575 full-time students in NENU，including 14 466 undergraduates，4 583 M. A. and Ph. D. students，and 476 foreign students.

學校現有各類全日制在校學生19 575人，其中，本科生14 466人，博士、碩士研究生4 583人，外國留學生476人。

There are 1 401 full-time teachers，including 348 professors，431 associate professors and 184 Ph. D. supervisors. There is one academician of the Chinese Academy of Sciences，one academician of The Third World Academy of Science and 11 members of The Academic Degree Committee of the State Council. In addiLion，there are 4 professors in the“Cheungkong Scholars Program"，3 recipients of National Outstanding Youth Fund，5 national outstanding young and middle aged specialists，3 professors selected for the“One Hundred Experts Program"(a national personnel development project organized by The Chinese Academy of Sciences)，12 teachers selected for the personnel construction program sponsored by the Ministry of Education，and one state-level renowned teacher, and 14 committee members of the Guiding Committee for Higher Education Instruction.

歷史變遷

1946 The Northeast University，the NENU's predecessor, was founded in Northeast China in Benxi，Liaoning Province.

1946年東北師範大學的前身東北大學建校於遼寧省本溪市。

1949 The Northeast University moved to Changchun City，Jilin Province.

1949年學校定址長春。

1950 The Northeast University was renamed Northeast Normal University.

1950年易名爲東北師範大學。

1958 The University was renamed Jilin Normal University

1958年更名爲吉林師範大學。

1980 The University restored its name as Northeast Normal University.

1980年恢復原名東北師範大學。
