成都富士康爆炸已致2死16傷

CHENGDU, May 20 (Xinhua) -- Two people were killed and 16 others injured Friday after an explosion hit a Foxconn plant in southwest China' s Sichuan Province, said local authorities. 據當地官方報告，週五中國西南部四川省的富士康工廠爆炸已致2人死亡，16人受傷。

The blast occurred about 7 p.m. at a workshop in Hongfujin Precision Electronics (Chengdu) Co. Ltd., a subsidiary of Taiwan-based Foxconn Technology Group, located in the provincial capital of Chengdu, said a spokesman with the city's government.
當地政府發言人說，爆炸發生在晚上七點左右，發生事故的地方是富士康集團鴻富錦成都公司。

The 16 injured workers were rushed to hospital where three of them were being treated for serious wounds, said the spokesman.
發言人說，受傷的16個人已被緊急送往醫院，其中3人重傷。

The cause of the explosion remained under investigation, said an officer with the city's public security bureau.
成都公安局的一位官員說，爆炸的原因正在調查中。

Foxconn, the world' s largest electronics contractor, opened the 2-billion-U.S.-dollar Chengdu plant in October last year to manufacture laptop computers.
富士康是世界上最大的電子產品代工工廠，去年造價20億開辦了成都的這家工廠生產筆記本電腦。
