環球之旅:Baskunchak湖和bogdo山之行

Lake Baskunchak is a salt lake which healing effect excels that of the Dead Sea and Mount Bogdo, which we have already mentioned in one of our previous articles. These are the places of unbelievable beauty!

You should take a car ride and drive right on the water to get to Baskunchak.

To get into the water, you should go down the stairs covered in salt.

There are following facilities on the beach: a shower, a restroom, and a changing room.

Mount Bogdo can be seen in the distance.

Mount Bogdo is the highest point of the Astrakhan region. 150 meters!

According to an old legend, Mount Bogdo used to be located on the bank of the Ural River. One day two saint Kalmyks decided to bring it to the bank of the Volga River. While they were carrying it from one place to another, a sinful thought crossed the mind of one of them and he fell down under the weight of the burden. The mount squashed the man and turned red. Until now one of the sides of the mount is red.
