商務禮節美語第7期:購買紀念品(1)

公司副總裁Jason到上海，由Gina接待。

Jason: Hello Gina! We've spoken so many times on the phone but's it's so good to finally meet you in person!吉娜你好！我們通過電話聊了這麼久，現在見到你本人了感覺真好！

G: Hello sir. Good to meet you, too. 先生您好，我也很高興能見到您啊。

J: Oh, please don't call me "sir." Just call me Jason. 哦，請別叫我先生了，就叫我詹森吧。

G: Ok, Jason. So how was the flight? 好的，詹森，坐飛機順利嗎？

J: Pretty good. There was a bit of turbulence while we were over the Pacific Ocean but it wasn't too bad. The worst thing was the guy behind me. He snored all through the night! 挺順利的。就是經過太平洋的時候有氣流但是不是很糟糕。最糟糕的是坐在我後面的人打了一夜的呼嚕。

G: Really? But you were in first class! Nobody woke that guy up? 真的嗎？但是那你是在頭等艙啊！沒有人叫醒那個人嗎？

Jason和Gina以前只在電話上溝通過，Jason說，it's so good to finally meet you in person, 見到你本人很高興。寒暄過後，Gina問Jason路上是否順利，Jason說，飛機在太平洋上空遇到氣流有些顛簸，turbulence is spelled t-u-r-b-u-l-e-n-c-e, turbulence，是氣流的意思。但最糟糕的是，坐在Jason後面的人打了一夜呼嚕。

J: The stewardess said it's not company policy to wake people up for any reason. 空姐說公司規定說沒有任何理由叫醒飛機上的乘客。

G: That's terrible! So you didn't get any sleep? 太槽糕了！所以說你根本沒有睡着了？

J: Not that's ok...I'm a night owl anyway. 睡着很短的時間……但是還行……因爲我是個夜貓子。

G: So, aside from visiting our factory and offices, are there any other things you want to accomplish while you're in China? 所以，除了參觀我們的工廠和辦公室，還有什麼是你來到中國想做的嗎？

J: I'd love to squeeze in a trip to the Great Wall. 我想抽點時間去長城。

G: That's not a problem. We can have a company car take you there. It's only about a two hour drive. 那沒問題。我們能開公司的車帶你去。只需要2個小時左右就能到了。

空服拒絕把打呼嚕的人叫醒，因爲it's not company policy，不符合公司規定。Jason說，自己反正是a night owl， 夜貓子，所以問題不大。除了視察工作外，Jason說還想抽時間去爬長城，I'd love to squeeze in a trip to the Great Wall. Gina說，長城不遠，只要兩小時車程，所以沒問題。

J: Also...I'd like to do some shopping while I'm here. 還有，在這邊我還想買點東西。

G: Well, you've come to the right place! China is a shopping paradise. Name it—we've got it. 嗯，你來對地方了!中國是一個購物天堂。直說吧，我們有很多好東西。

J: To be honest, I'm not really sure what I'm looking for. But I need gifts for my wife, kids and I should bring something back for the senior partners of my firm as well. 實話說，我不是很確信我要買什麼。但是我需要給我的妻子，孩子和公司的合夥人買禮物。

G: Hum...I'd recommend silk for your wife. Maybe a bathrobe or perhaps a shawl. Silk dresses and shirts are good, too. 嗯，我建議給你的妻子買絲綢。也許是件睡衣或者是一條圍巾。絲綢的以衣服和襯衣也不錯。

J: sounds good. But my wife is picky so I'll need your help to choose the right one. It should be classy and not too flashy. 是的……聽起來不錯。但是我的妻子很挑剔所以我需要你幫我選件合適的。衣服要典雅，不能過於招搖過市。

G: I think I know just the store to visit. Leave it to me. 我想我知道哪個店可以買到合適的了。交給我吧。

除了觀光，Jason還想購物，給太太、孩子和公司合夥人買禮物。Gina建議Jason給太太買絲綢製品。Jason說太太很picky，picky is spelled p-i-c-k-y, picky，picky，是挑剔的意思，衣服要典雅classy, 不能過於招搖，flashy. Gina說，leave it to me，包在我身上。
