A: You look unhappy. What's the matter with you?

你看起來不高興，怎麼了？

B: Bod told me word for word what Tom said about me at the party.

A: Cheer up, you needn't care about that. Everybody know that he is a wAlkie-talkie.

word for word

1. 解詞釋義

Word for word的字面意思是“一個字對一個字”，用來形容“某人照搬原話，一個字也不該”。

2. 拓展範例

E.g. Don' t translate word for word, sentence for sentence.

不要逐字逐句地翻譯。

E.g. Tell me what she said, word for word.

把她說的一五一十地告訴我。

E.g. The child's essay was copied word for word out of an encyclopedia.

那孩子的文章是從百科全書一字不變地照抄來的。

E.g. Don't read the article word for word, skim through it to pay attention to key words.

不要逐詞讀這篇文章，大致瀏覽一下注意關鍵詞。

E.g. He doesn't give two pins for what the critics say about his work.

他毫不在乎別人對他作品的批評。

第四，短語翻譯

中文：他是亂說話的人。

譯文：He is a walkie-talkie.

解析：walkie-talkie是“無線步話機”，用來比喻“多嘴多舌的人”。

例句：I did not tell her about it, she is a walkie-talkie.

我沒把這件事告訴他,她是個多嘴多舌的人。
