1. 解詞釋義
Pink slip的意思是“解僱通知書”,也叫做walking paper。這個習語要追朔到20世紀初期,表示在發給員工的週薪信封裏放一張粉紅色的小紙條,通知員工被解僱的噩耗。放紅色字條一方面是爲了避免你和其他資料混在一起,一面員工忽視而沒有看到,另一方面也許是因爲粉紅色相對比較柔和,可能會對被解僱的員工“受傷的心靈”產生一點慰藉作用。使用時表示解僱某人可以用動詞give,即爲:give sb. the pink slop。
