【核心短語】ais and graces

【解詞釋義】airs的意思是“高傲的樣子”或“做作的姿態”。Grace的意思是“優雅”。兩個意思的結合就是“爲了引起別人的注意而故作姿態”，由此引申爲“妝模作樣，裝腔作勢”。

【典型範例1】 I cannot stand his airs and graces——he is just an ordinary person like us.

我不能容忍他裝腔作勢——他和我們一樣只是普通的人而已。
