Feifei: Hi Rob. Nice to see you here in the park with this lovely dog.
菲菲：嗨，羅布。很高興在公園裏到你和你可愛的小狗。(Dog barks)
（狗的叫聲）Rob: Hi Feifei. Yes, this is Fido. As they say, dog is a man's best friend and... he is my best friend. I'm taking him for a walk. But we have to get back home soon.
羅布：嗨，菲菲。是啊，這是菲多。俗話說，狗是人類最好的朋友……它是我最好的朋友。我在帶它散步。不過我們馬上就得回家了。
Feifei: Why Rob? I was going to ask if you wanted a coffee...
菲菲：爲什麼呀，羅布？我剛要問你要不要去喝杯咖啡……Rob: Thank you, Feifei, but I can't. I love walking Fido and sometimes I forget to look at my watch. I keep coming home late for dinner and the family is annoyed because the food gets cold. I'm in the doghouse at the moment.
羅布：謝謝你，菲菲，不過我去不了。我喜歡帶菲多散步，不過有時我會忘記時間。我回家的時候總是會誤了吃飯的時間，家裏人都很生氣，因爲飯菜已經涼了。我當時備受冷落。Feifei: You are in the doghouse?! That's terrible, Rob! How can you say your dog is your best friend if you kick him out of his own house?
菲菲：你在狗窩裏？那太糟糕了，羅布！你把你的狗趕出它的家，你怎麼能說它是你最好的朋友呢？(Dog barks)
（狗叫聲）Rob: No, no, it's not that...
羅布：不，不是，不是那個意思……Feifei: Now this poor dog will be left out in the cold, in the rain... Poor Fido! If you are in the doghouse, where does this lovely dog sleep?
菲菲：這隻可憐的小狗會被丟在冰冷的雨中……可憐的菲多！如果你在狗窩裏，那這隻可愛的小狗睡在哪裏呢？Rob: Well, Fido sleeps where he always does: in the doghouse. But in English, we can say someone is 'in the doghouse' if they've annoyed another person.
羅布：菲多就在它一直睡覺的地方睡啊，在狗窩裏。不過在英語中，如果我們說某個人in the doghouse，意思是他們惹惱了其他人。Feifei: So your family is annoyed with you because you were inconsiderate to them.

羅布：再見。Feifei: Bye.
