巴黎冷知識：埃菲爾鐵塔本來是要拆的
現在已經很難想象一個沒有埃菲爾鐵塔的巴黎了，但這座地標在剛剛修建的時候其實激起了民憤，巴黎人覺得這個鐵怪物又大又醜，而且和巴黎的風格完全不搭。
當時這座塔是作爲1889年世博會的入口修建的，本來說放20年就拆，但現在已經放了130多年了，真香。
The Eiffel Tower was actually only meant to be the entrance to the Paris World’s Fair in 1889. The agreement was that it was to stand for 20 years after, and then be taken down, but over a century on and as one of the world’s most famous sights, it’s safe to say it isn’t going anywhere. Now it’s over 130 years old, but it is still one of Paris’ youngest landmarks by comparison.
埃菲爾鐵塔本來只是1889年巴黎世界博覽會的入口。根據當時的協議，20年後它將被拆除，但一個多世紀過去了，作爲世界上最著名的景點之一，可以說它不會有任何的改變。現在它已經有130多年的歷史了，但相比之下，它仍然是巴黎最具活力的地標之一。
