南非冷知識：南非也有企鵝

想看野生企鵝，並不需要去南極，南非也有企鵝，開普敦就是著名的企鵝聚居地。

南非的這種企鵝有個奇特的名字——驢企鵝 Jackass penguins

爲什麼叫驢企鵝？？？因爲，雖然這種企鵝看起來是蠢萌乖巧小口愛，但只要一開口就人設崩塌，那是貨真價實的驢叫。

Boulders Beach, Cape Town, is where you can swim with colonies of Jackass penguins. Its official name is African penguin. It is a species of penguin confined to southern African waters. It has distinctive pink patches of skin above the eyes and a black facial mask; the body upperparts are black and sharply delineated from the white underparts, which are spotted and marked with a black band. The pink gland above their eyes helps them to cope with changing temperatures. When the temperature gets hotter, the body of the African penguin sends more blood to these glands to be cooled by the air surrounding it. This then causes the gland to turn a darker shade of pink.

你可以和成羣的驢企鵝一起在開普敦博德斯海濱游泳。驢企鵝的官方名稱是非洲企鵝。這是一種生活在非洲南部水域的企鵝。它有着黑色的面孔，它的眼睛上方有小片獨特的粉紅色皮膚；它的上半身和下半身有明顯的區別，上半身是黑色的，下半身是白色的，而且下半身上還有黑色的條紋。其眼睛上方的粉紅色腺體幫助它們應對不斷變化的溫度。當溫度升高時，非洲企鵝的身體會向這些腺體輸送更多的血液，通過周圍的空氣使其冷卻下來，而這會使這些腺體變成深粉色。

其實這些企鵝不是開普敦本土的。

這要說回1982年，兩頭迷路的企鵝飄到開普敦，被漁民保護了起來，隨後就開始野蠻生長，一發不可收拾。
