across the age groups of the children I met是插入語。去掉可以得到It was refreshing to see…是主句,see後面的賓語是and連接的兩個how引導的句子充當:how quickly they grasped the whole idea of human rights and how…。其中with a little bit of prompting from their teachers and me作插入語,也是句子的伴隨狀語。將插入語去除完整的句子是It was refreshing to see how quickly they grasped the whole idea of human rights and how they saw how relevant they were to their daily lives。第二個從句中,謂語say後仍然是由how引導的名詞性從句how relevant they were to their daily lives充當賓語。
