Smartphones are likely to replace wallets in the near future as about 65 percent of the online payment deals last year were done with mobile devices, a new study said.

最新調查顯示，在2015年，有多達65%的網上支付賬單是通過移動設備完成的，這預示着智能手機移動支付有望在不遠的將來取代傳統的支付方式。

According to findings published by Alipay, the mobile payment unit of e-commerce giant Alibaba Group Holding Ltd, the percentage represents a big jump compared with 49.3 percent of the total transactions done by the same mode in 2014.

根據電商巨頭阿里集團移動支付事業部支付寶發佈的數據，移動支付佔整體的比例數字相比2014年的49.3%，是一個極大的跳躍。

The company, which is the largest third-party payment service provider, said that mobile payment has been further changing people's everyday life along with the rapid growth of the online to offline business, including taxi-hailing and restaurant booking.

作爲最大的第三方支付平臺提供商，支付寶認爲：隨着出租車呼叫和酒店預訂等o2o交易的快速發展，移動支付已經深深的改變了人們的日常生活方式。

According to Alipay, mobile payment is more popular in China's underdeveloped western regions. The Tibet autonomous region leads the country in mobile payment with 83.3 percent of the online payment transactions in the region made with mobile devices in 2015. The region is followed by Guizhou, Gansu, Shaanxi and Qinghai provinces. The autonomous region and provinces on average processed nearly 80 percent of the online payment deals via mobile devices.

支付寶的報告表明，移動支付在中國欠發達的西部地區更加普及。2015年西藏自治區83.3%的網上支付賬單都是通過移動設備完成的，該比例居全國首位。貴州省，甘肅省，陝西省和青海省緊隨其後。在這些省份和自治區，移動支付賬單數量佔網絡支付賬單總數的平均比例接近80%。

Li Chao, an analyst with iResearch Consulting Group, said that the lack of bricks-and-mortar business infrastructure is the main reason for the high frequency of mobile payments in the region.

Since most of the people in the western regions would turn to online shopping sites for the products they need, it is very likely that they make more payments via smart phones compared with their counterparts in urban areas, he said.
