Q: The DPRK announced that it launched a test communications satellite on April 5 local time, and the Security Council has responded to that by adopting a presidential statement. How do you comment on this?
答：中方注意到，朝鮮宣佈於當地時間4月5日發射試驗通信衛星，也注意到發射問題引起有關國家的關切。安理會剛剛通過了主席聲明，對朝鮮發射問題作出了反應，要求有關各方全面履行安理會1718號決議，支持並呼籲早日重啓六方會談。
A: China has taken note that the DPRK announced its launch of an experimental communications satellite on April 5 (local time). We have also noted that relevant countries have raised concern over the launch. The Security Council just adopted a presidential statement as a reaction to the launch. The statement calls upon parties concerned to fully comply with their obligations under Security Council resolution 1718. It also supports and calls for an early resumption of the Six-Party Talks.
中方始終認爲，安理會的反應應着眼於維護朝鮮半島和東北亞地區和平穩定大局，維護六方會談和朝鮮半島無核化進程，維護國際防擴散體系。本着上述精神，中方不贊成安理會就此次朝鮮發射問題通過決議，更不贊成對朝鮮實施新的制裁。
China always holds that the reaction of the Security Council should be aimed at ensuring the overall interests of peace and stability on the Korean Peninsula and in Northeast Asia, promoting the Six-Party Talks and the denuclearization process on the Peninsula, and safeguarding the international non-proliferation regime. In light of this spirit, China disagrees of a Security Council resolution on the launch, let alone new sanctions against the DPRK.
中方希望有關各方着眼大局和長遠，保持冷靜和剋制，共同維護半島和東北亞地區和平與穩定，共同致力於不斷推動六方會談和朝鮮半島無核化進程向前發展。這符合國際社會和地區各國的共同利益。
China hopes that parties concerned bear in mind the overall and long-term interests, exert calmness and restraint, jointly maintain peace and stability of the Korean Peninsula and Northeast Asia and make concerted efforts to consistently facilitate the Six-Party Talks and denuclearization on the Korean Peninsula. This serves the common interests of the international community and countries in the region.
