點滴英語天天學第60期:戀之語(拓展語彙5)

1. heavy petting

釋義:It refers to sexual touching; foreplay. 譯爲:親暱的身體接觸,性愛撫,性挑逗等。

例句: Al and Sue got into some heavy petting last night. (昨晚,Al和Sue親熱着了。)

Jack and Jane should not enjoy heavy petting in public.(Jack 和Jane不該在公共場合親暱。)

You can be sure there's a lot of heavy petting going on under those bleachers. (你可以肯定的是有很多人在露天看臺下親熱。)

2. all over each other

釋義:指兩個人形影不離,黏黏乎乎

例句:Ron and Emily were all over each other during today's church service. (在今天的禮拜儀式中Rom和Emily一直形影不離,黏在一塊兒。)

Peter and Jenny had been all over each other for 5 years but they broke up for no reason just a few days ago.(Peter 和Jenny形影不離5年了,但就在前幾天不知爲什麼分手了。)

3. breadwinner

釋義:靠工作養家餬口

例句:Susie is an attorney and Tom is a janitor. It is obvious which one is the breadwinner in that family. (Susie是律師,Tom是看門人。他們家裏誰養家是擺着的事情了。)

When the breadwinner is ill, his children will do anything rather than starve.(大人病了,兒女們做賊做娼也比餓着強!)
