The US first lady Michelle Obama, who flew Wednesday from Washington, D.C., is making a week-long trip to three Chinese cities and will deliver speeches on bilateral cooperation in education during the tour.

美國第一夫人米歇爾•奧巴馬當地時間週三從華盛頓出發開始爲期一週的中國之旅，她將到訪三個城市，並就兩國在教育方面的合作發表演講。

“第一夫人外交”（first lady diplomacy）是美國一項外交傳統，作爲柔性外交（soft diplomacy）的重要承擔者，美國第一夫人往往也是地位特殊的大使，在增強文化溝通（cultural exchange）、宣傳國家形象（promote national image）、強化外交關係（strengthen diplomatic ties）等方面，起着不可替代的作用。
