全世界各地區各民族對自己的節日都特別地重視，不同的節日在他們的心目中有其不同的重要性。英美國家的許多節日大都是與宗教有關的，如：聖誕節(Christmas)，感恩節(Thanksgiving Day)，復活節(Easter)等。節日期間，朋友或熟人見面都會互相問候，說一些如：新年好(Happy New Year!)，聖誕快樂(Merry Christmas!)，復活節快樂(Happy Easter!)等祝福的話。
對話中的How about you? 意爲你的計劃呢？你呢？to stay at home呆在家裏; come to visit us 來看我們；parent父親或母親；parents父母，雙親。
在國定假日期間，許多人都會有出遊的計劃。如要詢問別人有什麼計劃，可以這樣問: Have you got anything to do during the holiday? 還有，並在對話中捎上祝福，如Have a pleasant holiday！或 Enjoy your holiday! 假日愉快！這也是很重要的。

對話中的“Where are you going?”的意思是“你去哪裏？”，僅限於非常熟悉的人之間使用。
