19 A Private Talibanisation
'Let's pretend it's a Twilight movie and that we're vampires in the forest,' I said to Moniba.
“我們來假裝自己是在《暮光之城》的電影裏，我們是一羣森林裏的吸血鬼。”我對莫妮巴說。We were on a school trip to Marghazar, a beautiful green valley where the air is cool, and there is a tall mountain and a crystal-clear river where we were planning to have a picnic.
我們這次郊遊的目的地是馬爾格扎，一座美麗的綠色山谷。那裏的空氣很涼爽，還有一座高山和一條清澈見底的小溪。我們打算在溪邊野餐。
Nearby was the White Palace Hotel, which used to be the wali's summer residence.
那附近有一棟“白宮飯店”，是舊時瓦利的避暑宮殿。It was April 2012, the month after our exams so we were all feeling relaxed.
那是2012年的4月，上個月剛結束大考，我們的心情都很輕鬆。We were a group of about seventy girls.
我們大約有七十個女孩子。Our teachers and my parents were there too.
隨行的還有我們的老師與我的父母。My father had hired three Flying Coaches but we could not all fit in, so five of us – me, Moniba and three other girls – were in the dyna, the school van.
父親租了三輛簡便巴士，但我們沒辦法都擠上車，因此我們五個人——我、莫妮巴，還有三個女孩坐上了豐田迪娜，也就是我們的校車。It wasn't very comfortable, especially because we also had giant pots of chicken and rice on the floor for the picnic, but it was only half an hour's drive.
車裏不怎麼舒適，車上堆滿了爲野餐準備的、裏面裝了雞肉和米飯的許多口大鍋。但好在車程也不過30分鐘。We had fun, singing songs on the way there.
我們玩得很開心，一路歡唱。Moniba was looking very beautiful, her skin porcelain-pale.
莫妮巴看起來非常漂亮，肌膚如陶瓷般白皙。'What skin cream are you using?' I asked her.
“你現在擦哪種護膚霜？”我問她。'The same one you're using,' she replied.
“跟你用的一樣。”她回答。I knew that could not be true. 'No. Look at my dark skin and look at yours!'
我知道她在說謊。“怎麼可能？你看看我的皮膚多暗沉，你再看看你自己的！”We visited the White Palace and saw where the Queen had slept and the gardens of beautiful flowers.
我們參觀了白宮飯店，見識到了皇后的寢宮，也欣賞了繁花似錦的花園。Sadly we could not see the wali's room as it had been damaged by the floods.
很可惜我們沒辦法看到瓦利的房間，因爲它遭到洪水的破壞，尚未修復。
