2.
Harold: I wish you'd let me speak to the school. It sounds like this teacher's been after you from the start.
Blair: Thank you. But I wanted to handle this on my own.
Harold: That speaks volumes of the mature young lady you've become.
Blair: I wish everyone could see me through your eyes.
Harold: You keep your chin up. I'll see you after school.

speak volume: to make a situation very clear without the use of words,
I wish everyone could see me through your eyes: 我希望別人都能像你那麼看我
keep your chin up: 不要氣餒, chin是下巴的意思

3.
Isabel: To be honest, Blair, none of us are that into 5:00 a.m. Trash duty. I think we're gonna sit this one out.

sit out: to refrain from taking part in: sit out a dance.

4.
Nelly: Please, I-I need to check the dow.
Blair: Hey! Nelly Yuki, get a grip!

get a grip: another way of saying "take it easy" or "stop being so paranoid already!"

Dan: If Blair did this to Rachel, this... I mean, she's gone way too far.

she's gone way too far: 她太過分了,她太過火了,另外一個詞組cross the line也有類似的意思,表示越界了,過分了。

6.
Nate: All right, listen, maybe you should get some rest. It could help jog your memory.

jog your memory: to cause you to remember something

7.
Agent: Well, I could never do anything unprofessional. But sometimes I do leave a file unattended when I go to get a drink. There's some bottled water in the fridge. Are you thirsty?
Chuck: Parched.

unattended: not being attended to, looked after, or watched.
parch: to become very dry

8.
Vanessa: So you ratted on Blair? You Templeton.
Dan: A "Charlotte's Web"-sult?That's very cute. And, no, technically, I did not rat on Blair. I justtold Rachel to put the squeeze on the weakest of her kilted cronies.
Vanessa: And what does Serena think of you getting her best friend expelled?
Dan: The moment Blair involves me in her schemes, the "boyfriend of the b.f.f." clause is officially null and void.

Templeton: A character (a rat) in the classic children's novel Charlotte's Web.

10.
Queller: Miss Waldorf, this meeting is closed to students.
Blair: I’m sorry for the interruption. But I have something I thinkalmost everyone here would want to see. Headmistress, if you'd like tocheck your e-mail... I believe it's called exculpatory evidence. I love "damages."

be closed to students: 禁止學生入內,注意這個禁止用be closed to,同樣的,“道路封路”也可以說the area is closed to traffic.
exculpatory evidence:applied to evidence which may justify or excuse an accused defendant'sactions, and which will tend to show the defendant is not guilty or hasno criminal intent.

11.
Harold: I saw a different side of you last night, and I'm disappointed.
Blair: But, daddy, I was right.
Harold: No, you were lucky. And you allowed me to defend a lie, a liethat you looked me in the eyes and told. Why did you do that?
Blair: Yale was on the line.

on the line: at risk of failing or being harmed,

THE STYLE

Serena always finds a way to jazz up her school uniform and this week is no exception. In this scene, Serena wears her usual French Toast plaid skirt with a blouse and sweater from James Perse, all paired with DVF boots and a Nuti bag.

While Serena's school looks tend to be a little more disheveled,Blair's are decidedly more polished. She proves that point wearing ared double-breasted coat from H&M with a black bubble skirt and perfectly plaid Robert Clergerie pumps.

The logo of the Yale bulldogs.

No. Thank you, thank you, Dorota."Rundown

There's a fine line between confident, scheming Blair and petulant, tantrum-throwing Blair, and on this week's episode of Gossip Girl,we get a huge helping of the latter. Frankly, the wholepouty-lower-lip-for-daddy routine wore on my last nerve. I want to seeBlair's misguided attempts at standing up for friends and getting whatshe wants, not stomping her foot and whining. But Blair is actually theleast of my concerns this episode, as Dan and the teacher make oneidiotic move after another. Let's discuss — just read more.

Blair is officially on detention and has to clean up the park(Dorota does this, naturally) and whines to Serena about how suckyRachel is. But Serena doesn't agree and tells Blair how much this newteacher "gets" her. Ha!

It's funny, cause you know who teacher really gets? she's gushing to him about his short story over breakfast whereSerena catches them. Because that's appropriate — breakfast withteacher.

Meanwhile, Chuck awakes to a new morning perplexed because he's having flashbacks to an Eyes Wide Shut evening that he doesn't remember. But there's sex! And masks! He must find out what this place is!

Back at school, Rachel says she hopes Blair learned a lesson outthere in the park, to which Blair responds sarcastically, "I madefriends with a family of squirrels and had lots of time to think."

Meanwhile, Serena confronts Dan about spending time with the teacherand Dan's all, "you crazy." And Serena's all, "Silly me, I should trustyou."

Blair's on the warpath against Rachel and summons her girls to helptake her down, but they refuse: "Sorry B, this is your vendetta." Evena hilarious speech about liberty and all that they've worked fordoesn't help.

Until, of course, the announcement comes that cell phones are nowbanned from school. Whose fault is this? Rachel's, of course! Hazel,Nelly and those other ones in their bright coats are all officially onboard to take Rachel down.

Hazel gets the shakes because she can't check Gossip Girl ("Is ascandal still a scandal if you can't text about it?") while Nellymumbles something about checking the Dow.

But ha! Dorota shows up in disguise (dark sunglasses) to give Blairher cell phone. The other girls: "Thank you, Jesus!" Blair: "No. Thankyou, Blair."

And then Blair spots stupid Dan complimenting the teacher's stupidsweater while she blushes. Blushing is not appropriate, people! Sheimmediately texts Gossip Girl a Mary Kay Letourneau alert with hercontraband phone.

Chuck, Nate, and Vanessa apparently have no use for school and arefiguring out where Chuck went the other night. When they appear at amysterious address, Vanessa muses, "Is this the Chuck Bass version ofNarnia?"

OK, so after there's a rumor going around that Rachel is having an inappropriate relationship with Dan, and aftershe uses the rumor to get Blair expelled, she then deems it appropriateto go have a candle-lit meet up with Dan? After hours?! Dan and thisteacher are really, really stupid.

Blair almost loses Yale, but then Serena turns on Rachel too andworks a little phone-camera magic. One parents' council meeting and onesnappy Damages reference later, Rachel's fired.

So, she and Dan hook up, because she's already fired for the hugging, so why not? But then she's not fired, so, uh, whoops. Could they pack in more plot twists last night? Sheesh.

You know, this is good. Dan and Rachel's "courtship" makes zerosense, but it's a heck of a lot better than Dan and Serena talking outtheir "issues" all. the. time. Meanwhile, what do you think aboutChuck's subplot? It made me laugh at first (the cheesy flashbacks,Chuck's melodramatic tone) but then I felt a bit bored. Time to soundoff!

One thing is certain on the Upper East side. What goes around, comes around. XOXO, Gossip Girl.
