It must have been on my end:

2.
Rufus: Look at us. Everything's working out. You're in Yale and Jenny might actually make it to 16.
Dan: That was a little touch-and-go there for a while.
Jenny: Yes, but I still have 24 hours to mess up, so...

I made it.
touch-and-go: Dangerous and uncertain in nature or outcome; precarious; delicate.
mess up: to spoil something, or do something badly,

3.
Serena: Poppy. Oh, my gosh.
Poppy: Oh, it's so good to see you. I was beginning to think we weren't running in the same circles anymore. It's been so long.

running in the same circles:

4.
Poppy: Well, it sounds like everything's exactly the same as it was last time I saw you. Makes catching up easier, though, right?
Serena: Yeah. I'm throwing a party this weekend.
Poppy: Really? Oh, what's the occasion? Not that you need one.

catch up: To bring (another) up to date; brief.
what’s the occasion:
not that you need one: 當然你也不一定需要理由,not that表示“倒不是……”

5.
Chuck: So if you'll excuse me...
Eric: Does this feel like a sitcom to anybody else?
Dan: It feels like a reality show.
Chuck: Good. So I can vote you off.

So if you'll excuse me:
vote you off: 我可以把你選出局了。

6.
Dan was denied financial aid at Yale. Funds are limited, and these days, there are a lot of other students that need it more than we do.

7.
Serena: Thanks for meeting me.
Poppy: After I saw you this morning, I felt kind of terrible.
Serena: I'm in a rut, aren't I?
Poppy: Yeah. Well, a girl like you should be on the arm of a designer at the costume ball one day and yachting around the Maldives the next, not making up and breaking up with the same high school boy and feuding with your frenemy.

in a rut: in a type of boring habitual behavior,
Someone who is both friend and enemy, a relationship that is both mutually beneficial or dependent while being competitive, fraught with risk and mistrust.

9.

Dan: Yeah, she and Nate broke up last night. It seems like she's taking it pretty hard, but, uh, she wants to come to the party, said she'd call.

take it pretty hard:

10.
Jenny: First of all, you need to stop watching so many old sitcoms on Hulu, and second, Dad on the upper east side? I mean, there's no way. No, we can't live up here. We're...

Jenny: Damn straight.

Penelope: Once I heard Poppy Lifton was coming to your party, I canceled mine. In the last 20 minutes, I've been hit on by two Bronfman’s and a gay designer. It was so worth it.
Hazel: Kudos on rising from the social grave.

hit on: 被搭訕

Nate: I'll take your word for it.

ALLUSIONS

Episode title: Remains of the J

The Remains of the Day is a novel by by Japanese-British author Kazuo Ishiguro and movie directed by James Ivory and starring Anthony Hopkins and Emma Thompson. The Remains of the Day ranks in the Sunday Times list of 100 greatest novels. It's a story about a butler, who decides to sacrifice his life to the loyal service of Lord Darlington.

THE STYLE

In this photo from the 20th episode of Gossip Girl, Blair faces a brutal blizzard looking just as stylish as ever. Blair wears a Kate Spade hat, BCBG coat, Club Monaco tights and carries an Isabella Adams bag.

When she's not dressed for a blizzard, Blair Waldorf looks elegant and regal (and warm) in the comfort of her home. In this scene she wears a chic gray top with a pink pleated skirt and black pumps. It's a beautiful color combination that Blair wears well.

Blair's Milly party dress takes on an "Upper East Side Wonder Woman" vibe with the addition of a Rachel Leigh cuff.

Serena van der Woodsen looks ready for Spring in this still from the 20th episode of Gossip Girl. It's all about that super cool yellow trench coat, though the hunter green sweater, skinny jeans, and quilted patent bag are pretty chic too.

It's sweet 16 for Jenny who wears a Missoni dress, Doma jacket, Alexis Bittar earrings, David Aubrey and Landver bracelets and carries a Forever 21 clutch to her out-of-control party.

When she's not mixing hoodies with dresses, Jenny Humphrey can look quite elegant. Such is the case here, where she's wearing a beautifully crafted one-shoulder dress with opaque tights and knee-high lace boots.

Vanessa Abrams gets a little too close for comfort in this particular scene from Gossip Girl. But if she's going to be bad, at least she looks good in her purple halter dress. We can't see much beyond that and her pink bracelet, but add a pair of complementary gold pumps to complete her dressed-up look.
